Overview: Over the last two years, Preview Sports has made
great strides in improving the overall consistency of their magazine.
Good news: Quantity of information is decent for most I-A teams,
similar to Street & Smith in layout and style.
Bad news: Historically poor predictions (11th of 12 magazines for
the last three years); the discussion looks like it was written before
spring football (but isn't sufficiently detailed to tell for sure); "previous
year's recap" section is not nearly as good as it once was.
Per-team information: slightly less than a page per team for major teams, closer to ½ page per team for minor ones. Includes: projected starting lineup; discussion of offensive/defensive prospects for the coming season; list of top returnees and newcomers; schedule (with previous year's results for opponents that were also played last year) is in a separate section.
Per-conference information: one page per conference for major conferences. Includes: all-conference team and projected order of finish (with projected conference and overall records for each team). Coverage is reduced for the MAC and Big West.
National information: two-deep all-America list; top 25 (with ½ page discussion of each team).
Recap (2000) information: Two pages, individual and team statistical leaders.
Division I-AA information: one page, with a projected top 10, all-America team, and short discussion.
